This morning I asked my husband how work went last night, and I somewhat expected a one word answer- such as ‘good’ , ‘fine’, or ‘bad’.  Instead, he followed the answer with an explanation of a few problems they’d had and how they needed to add some plastic inserts to replace another part that had gone bad. He followed that with the technicalities of why the plastic inserts are ‘the’ thing to use. Since it all seemed greek to me, I just nodded my head and smiled.

My life has been a whirlwind of activity lately and my time on the computer has dropped to almost nihl.  I was almost certain that once we returned from our vacation, and settled back into a routine, that I’d have much more time to spend on the computer, since after all, the skies are grey and it’s cold out.  Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.   Even though I have been home at various intervals, I find myself spending more time reorganizing things here, which has left me with quite a sense of accomplishment.  I still have a little way to go before I’m finished, and have several things on my ‘ to do’ list, such as list and catalog my current ‘already read’ book list so that I can either sell them, or offer them to others to read.   Since that will mean actually bringing the books inside from where they are stored and going through them one-by-one, the task is still on the back burner.  It will happen though, and soon.

I wrote an earlier entry about New York City and how my friends and I have been possibly planning a trip to the big city for later this year. It’s funny how there are some places that you’ve always wanted to go, but yet never been to even though they are technically not that far away. New York City is one of those places.

I also have the opportunity to go and meet up with one of my best friends there in May. Her daughters, along with their entire drama team at school, plus the drama teacher are taking a trip to the ‘Big Apple’ to spend some time seeing the sights, but mainly to spend their time on Broadway, and enjoying several musicals.

They were able to get a great deal using New York Bus Charters, which will get them from point A to point B with ease in the big city. They are excited, and I’m excited for them. It’s an experience that many kids don’t get the opportunity to have, and even though my friend’s girls have been, they haven’t been with their fellow drama class members and classmates.

I don’t see myself being able to go and catch up with them there, as much as I’d love to. I have some big travels coming up in July, and I want to be ready for those- but I’m still holding out for later in the year- autumn maybe.

I’m still attempting to get the hang of this space, but I’m having a few difficulties. It doesn’t seem as though we have the control over our settings and entries that we once had with the old journalspace, but I keep hoping that as things change with the new admins, that those things will change too.

I suppose time will tell, and in the meantime, I keep waiting, watching, and wondering.

I’m freezing, and finally gave in to the desire to have some coffee and brewed a pot for my husband and I. He’d been out reorganizing and cleaning our outside storage shed, and is in from doing that. It’s time to warm up. I have a feeling that this rain we’re getting at the moment, is going to turn into either ice or snow.

Lately I’ve been thinking alot about traveling.   I know, I know, one would think that after getting home from a two month vacation that the last thing on my mind would be a vacation, but what can I say?  I love to travel.

My friend Desere and I have been talking some time about making a trip to NYC.  We’ve wanted to make it a girls trip, but now we’ve been talking about making it a couples trip-  with our husbands coming along.   They would both love to see the city,  and if they come along it would be easier to stay somewhere on the outskirts of the city and have LaGuardia Airport Car Service take us to the hotel or Bed and Breakfast from the airport. That would keep us from renting a car from the airport to get around, plus it’s much easier than trying to deal with New York City traffic, and when I travel, I’m all about comfort and ease. Anything that makes a trip easier, I’m all for it!

Now we’ll just have to sort out what time of year we’d like to go. I’m thinking autumn in New York would be the perfect time, which will give me plenty of time to decide which musicals we want to see and which areas that we’d like to visit- aside from the Statue of Liberty and all the ‘must see’ places.

Any suggestions?

As many of you know, in December Journalspace had the big crash and lost all of their old data when their hard drives were overwritten, including the back up.

That meant that almost all of us who had been writing here for any significant amount of time lost pretty much everything we had here unless it was backed up.

I happened to be on vacation when it happened, and had no warning that it would happen, but one day JS was here, and one day it was gone.

Since then, it has been purchased by someone else, and here we go again with a new owner, new layout, new formats etc.   I’m curious to see how things will be, but time will tell that for sure.

I’ve been busy since getting home from our trip, but I do have lots on my mind, including goals that I set for myself for this year, which is now quickly zipping through February.

Right now, I’m hungry, so the rumble in my tummy tells me that it’s time to get busy in the kitchen and so something other than sitting here.

I look forward to sharing more as the days go on, and beginning.. again.
